September already…. Only 3 weeks left in the office before I head to Lisbon to get married, thenand off on my honeymoon for 10 days! I can´t wait to close my laptop in all honesty andtake some time out. I´ve done 200+ visa applications since my last properbreak.
The prep is nearly done, food, seating plan, music, flowers…. I just must polish off my speech now and practice my dance moves for our first dance 🤦
I may have mentioned earlier in the year, but this is the venue just outside of Lisbon, on the silver coast. By the time I send you my next update, I’ll be a married man! Wish me luck!
I made my way to two friends´ weddings in August, one just over the border in Spain and the other in Gibraltar, so I was taking notes! I offered to be a chauffeuras a wedding present and lend my old Jeep (recently restored) as the wedding car.
The air conditioning broke the day before, so turned out not to be the nicest drive with the roof on, all the way from Albufeira to Malaga (5 hours’) in 35c heat! But it all worked out in the end 🙂
But that´s my news, more importantly I’ve rounded up some of the latest GV news from here in Portugal, don’t hesitate to ask if any questions and I’ll always reply as soon as possible.
Simplified path to learning Portuguese for an EU passport
The thought of passing a language exam for some (including me!) can be quite daunting. To achieve citizenship in Portugal, one must understand the language to an A2 level. The good news being, that there is now an alternative route which involves completing a certain amount of study time, without the need to pass a test. It’s designed for learners who prefer a guided experience without the pressure of a final exam.
US Elections having an impact on potential moves to Portugal
We´re seeing record number of US citizens applying for Portugal´s Golden Visa this year, for various reasons. But one motivating factor has been for political reasons, with some fearing the worse for the future and making sure they have a “Plan B” should they need to move quickly. A client explained to me this week that he feared the possibility of his son being called for duty, being one of the reasonsfor his family to apply for the golden visa.
As of the time of writing, Trump seems to be the favourite for the election but some eagerly awaiting the election results before setting sail for Portugal.
Invest and qualify for the Golden Visa now with as little as 315,000 EUR of capital
Investors continue to qualify for the Golden Visa whilst minimising their own capital outlay. At the time of writing, it remains possible on the basis that investors have access to at least 315,000 EUR of their own capital. Naturally, this can have added benefits, especially for those looking to release capital from other investments.
